About Groom Cats

Groom Cats is the event not to be missed!

This day will be devoted exclusively to the grooming of the cat. This is a first in Europe. Indeed, although some competitions include the cat category, no other competition involves full grooming; i.e. including the bath.

This event will also be an opportunity to participate in seminars and attend demonstrations in order to share the knowledge of groomers and professionals recognized worldwide.

For those who are starting, or want to start, or even those who want to improve, Groom Cats is the event not to be missed!

Cat grooming is growing, it's time to train or develop your knowledge and especially the time to meet in order to exchange.

You can also participate in the grooming competition, under the judgment of certified groomers from the National Cat Groomers Institute of America. This contest is open to everyone, whether you are new to cats or not.

It is also an opportunity to come and discover our suppliers in the stand area.

So book your May 7, 2023 and join us for this brand new adventure!!

Felinely yours

Sylvie Corvers

Rules of the competition

Any type of cat (purebred or not) is accepted whether short, medium or long haired. Each cat must be groomed within the allotted time. A bathing area and a drying area are available to competitors. Each competitor must come with their small equipment and the necessary products, shampoos, towels, combs, scissors, etc. Groomers can choose to come with their own dryer. Tubs, dryers and grooming tables are provided. This is a full coated cat grooming contest. The lion cut, the cut with the attached comb, the shaving of the belly, the sanitary clipping are not authorized. All competitors will be prejudged before the start of the competition. The claws will already have to be cut. No grooming or pre-grooming must have been carried out on the cat in the 3 weeks preceding the date of the competition. However, it is recognized by the organizer that cat hair is all different and that 3 weeks may be an unrealistic time limit for some cats depending on whether the hair greases more or less quickly. Therefore, the proper coat is defined as a coat in sufficient condition to allow the competitor to make a significant change through grooming in the appearance of the cat. Cats whose coat would be judged inappropriate by the judges, for lack of work material, will be disqualified. Anyone who has judged a feline competition or given cat grooming training within 365 days of the competition date is not eligible to enter this competition.

Attention

We inform our kind participants and visitors that, for security reasons, dogs are not allowed in the enclosure of Groom Cats. Thank you for your understanding.
